INFO FOR VOCATIONAL & COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS

Education beyond high school has become relevant in the 21st century, and necessary to secure employment, build careers and improve quality of life. Each year, the Julian Woman’s Club awards scholarships to graduates of the Julian High School District (including home-schooled graduates) to assist them in achieving their career goals and increasing their opportunity for success.

We also offer scholarships for adults residing in the Julian area who wish to return/attend college or a vocational or technical school.

High school applicants must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher. We are looking for individuals who wish to pursue education in a specific vocation that may or may not require a college or university degree. These vocations include but are not limited to:

  • Nursing aide, Xray technician and Pharmacy Technician,
  • Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic,
  • Dental hygienist or assistant,
  • Veterinary tech,
  • Firefighter or Law Enforcement Officer,
  • General Automotive, Welder, Airconditioning/Heating
  • Electrician or Plumber,
  • Cosmetology or Chef.

High school winners will be announced at the Julian High School Awards Ceremony and invited to attend the September meeting of the Julian Woman’s Club to share their plans. Adult winner will be notified personally and also invited to attend the first Wednesday of September meeting.

The number of scholarships is limited and therefore it is awarded through a competitive process. Applicants who demonstrate a particular skill or goal that will lead to successful completion of a technical or vocational program will be considered.
