DESCRIPTION:The Julian Wildflower Show has been continuous since 1926\, except for 3 years during World War II. \nThe Woman’s Club holds its annual Wildflower Show the first weekend in May. Admission is free to the public.\n Location:  Julian Town Hall\nLower Level\nHours:  10:00 am to 4:00 pm\nThe Julian Wildflower Show has been an historical event for over 90 years. The Wildflower Show is meant to educate club members\, local residents\, out-of-town visitors and children about the botanical wealth of Julian and its vicinity.\nPrior to the show\, teams of two ladies fan out across Julian and neighboring environs\, and these members will locate and pick a variety of flowers within their assigned region. Due to Julian’s mountain valley location\, bordering a national forest and near the Anza-Borrego State Park\, we have identified 855 species of plants growing within 25 miles of town.\nIf you enjoyed looking at pictures in our Virtual Wildflower Show\, then you will love seeing these wildflowers\, in person\, at our Wildflower Show 2026! Smell the aroma and appreciate the beauty of our Jewels of the Backcountry. Enjoy art created by our elementary school children\, and purchase crafts made by our talented club members.

SUMMARY:Backcountry Quilt Show - June 27 to July 5
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, June 27th until Sunday\, July 5th\, \ndaily from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.\nThe Backcountry Quilt Show will occur on the main (top) floor of Julian Town Hall\, located at the corner of Highway 78/79 and Main Street. The quilt show is open to the public and free of charge.\nEach year the Julian Woman’s Club presents its Quilt Show to display our town’s heritage of quilt making for the enjoyment of quilters and other visitors to Julian. This has been one of our club’s signature events for over 30 years. Many visitors\, young and old\, female and male\, local and from around the world\, attend the show each year. The show contains quilts and small gift items for sale\, all hand-made and donated by women in the club. Profits from the sale of these items go toward local scholarships.\nUnlike “juried” quilt shows\, our show is an opportunity for local quilters to exhibit their heirloom quilts. A “viewers’ choice” balloting is held and the winner receives a ribbon and bragging rights for the year.
